The Benefits of Electronic Data Interchange

Why File Electronically?

There are many benefits from filing United Concordia (UCCI) claims electronically. These benefits include:

  1. Improved cash flow - On average, UCCI electronic claims process two to three weeks faster than paper claims. This combined with the elimination of mail time means that you will receive your UCCI payments much faster if you file your claims electronically.
  2. Reduced postage and paper handling costs.
  3. Eliminates data entry errors.
  4. Real-time claims processing - If you're using Speed eClaim® you can submit your claims online and instantly find out how much UCCI will pay.

United Concordia requires network providers to file their claims electronically with the appropriate HIPAA compliant electronic claims format.

United Concordia offers you the ability to send your claims electronically through a clearinghouse or vendor. To obtain authorization, simply call our toll-free number at (800) 633-5430.

Our Dental Electronic Services (DES) Support Analysts staff can be reached using our toll-free number Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Regardless of which clearinghouse you choose to use, you must be authorized in our system first.

If you are a provider, clearinghouse or practice management software vendor that chooses to transmit electronic transactions directly to United Concordia, please click on the appropriate links below for additional information.
